Discover the ruins of Pompeii, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. See fantastic panoramic views of the Bay of Naples. Enjoy a typical pizza lunch in the region where the dish was invented.
After breakfast in the hotel, enjoy the excursion to the Vatican museums. The tour begins from Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads and following the ancient Aurelian walls which surrounded the city. You will see the famous Villa Borghese park and the northern gate of the ancient city leading into Piazza del Popolo where you will see an Egyptian obelisk dating back to the time of Ramses II. Finally, the guide will lead you into the Vatican Museums, taking the beautiful Spiral staircase and continue through the Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Geographical Maps before arriving in the famous Sistine Chapel with its magnificent fresco of the Last Judgment by Michelangelo. Departure to Florence. The city was home to many well-known artists, writers, explorers, and scientists. Amongst its most famous residents were Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Galileo. Famous for its rich history and considered as the birthplace of Renaissance the city is nowadays a popular tourist destination and is ranked as a UNESCO World heritage site.
Visit Piazza della Signoria to see the grand Palazzo Vecchio, as well as a copy of Michelangelo’s David sculpture that stands outside the Accademia Gallery. After taking pictures of the Gallery, get ready to enter to Uffizi Gallery. Stop for lunch in a local restaurant, and then send the rest of your afternoon at leisure. Maybe take a stroll along Florence’s famous bridge, the Ponte Vecchio, and explore the neighborhood of Oltrarno neighborhood on the other side of the River Arno. Overnight in Montecatini Terme hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Free time in Montecatini Terme and then we advice a day trip to Siena and San Gimignano. This Tuscan hill towns will transport you back to the Middle Ages, famous for splendid examples of Gothic architecture. Siena’s grand cathedral, built in the 1200s, has treasured artworks and marvelous marble floors. The Piazza del Campo, the main town square, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Montecatini Terme. Overnight in hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Free time in Montecatini Terme, then enjoy your first half day sightseeing tour to Pisa. Visit Bologna and enjoy city walk with tour guide during the second half of the day. Overnight at hotel in Emilia-Romagna.
